MEET THE ARTIST

Sherrie Brown

Hello there! I’m Sherrie B, originally from the Washington DC Metro Area. I was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA while in the Navy and decided to make it home after getting out in 2013. While going to school at Old Dominion University, I started working with artisans and small businesses at the local farmers markets which rekindled my love for art.
Being a mixed media artist, I enjoy learning and trying new techniques and mediums. My favorite mediums are acrylic, watercolor, and pastels. I also enjoy making jewelry with silver and semi-precious stones. Being a lifelong student, I haven’t found a subject to specialize in because I enjoy the challenge and experience in trying new things.
Inspiration is found in my daily life, adventures, and shared experiences with others. Each work tells a different story, often recreating memories, sometimes exploring day dreams, or simply enjoying nature. As a Christ follower, many of my pieces will express my faith. My intention is that each work fills the viewer with excitement, warmth, and hope.
My first acrylic painting was completed in 2006 for a high school art show. Since then I have attended several local art shows and exhibits. Currently my work is available for purchase in local galleries and online.
